Zupee login — what the sign-in actually does

The Zupee app does not expose a browser login. Sign-in runs inside the Android app on the registered phone number, with an OTP fallback. Here is what each path does, what to do if the OTP never arrives, and how to recover a locked account.

Zupee login is a phone-number sign-in inside the Android app. There is no separate web login form on the Zupee Today site, on the official website, or inside the app store listing. The sign-in flow runs as follows in our most recent test on Android 13:

  1. Open the Zupee app. The first screen offers a phone-number field and a country code.
  2. Type the registered mobile number. The field shows a live check (the number is valid on all Indian operators).
  3. Tap Continue. An OTP arrives by SMS, typically in under five seconds. Verify it on the next screen.
  4. If you have set the four-digit lock, the app prompts for it. If not, the app routes straight to the lobby.

There is no email-and-password sign-in. There is no Google or Apple sign-in either. If a screen asks for either of those, it is not the Zupee app.

The phone number you sign in with becomes your identifier across devices. Logging out on one device does not close the account, but you can revoke active sessions from Settings → Privacy.Verified by the desk on 28 Jul 2026 · app build 4.7.1

If the OTP never arrives

The desk hits an OTP delay occasionally on first-time SIMs. The non-destructive paths to try are:

  • Wait 30 seconds. OTP retries queue on the operator, not on the app.
  • Re-check the country code. India +91 is the only supported code in our tests.
  • Toggle airplane mode for ten seconds. This forces a SIM re-register without logging you out anywhere else.
  • Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi. Some operator routes block the SMS path on first SMS over LTE.

If the OTP still does not arrive after two retries, raise a ticket from Settings → Help inside the app, or use the customer care entry points we maintain on customer care.

Locked account recovery

Zupee locks an account after five consecutive failed OTP attempts. The lock is per device and clears automatically after 30 minutes in our last test, or after a successful OTP on any other active session. If you cannot recover within an hour:

  • Open Settings → Help → Account → Locked.
  • The app sends a one-tap unlock request to the support desk; we measured the reply time at 6–14 hours during off-peak periods.
  • For a permanent lock (lost SIM, stolen device), write to the desk with the registered phone number and a one-time photograph of the device box or a recent top-up receipt.

Security checklist

Apply these on every fresh sign-in. They take under a minute and cover the patterns the desk has logged over the last 90 days.

  1. Set a four-digit lock the first time you sign in.
  2. Add the device to your active-sessions list (Settings → Privacy).
  3. If you sign in on a shared device, sign out from the same screen as soon as the round ends.
  4. Never paste an OTP into a chat window — Zupee support will never ask for it.

Frequently asked

Does Zupee have a web login?

No. The Zupee app does not currently expose a browser login. If you have been sent a link asking you to sign in on the web, write to the desk — those sites are not Zupee.

Can I sign in on two phones at once?

You can be signed in on multiple phones. The active-sessions list lets you revoke anything you do not recognise.

What if I no longer have the registered SIM?

Raise a ticket with the registered phone number and a KYC document that matches it (Aadhaar, PAN, or a recent bank statement). The recovery chain is reviewed manually.
