Every correction issued against our own copy is published here. Each row records the date, the page where the correction was applied, the original claim, the corrected claim and the date the corrected text was verified.

What counts as a correction

Anything in our published articles that turns out to be factually wrong after a re-test on a fresh account. Anything that misquoted a source. Anything that confused a release date with a release number. We do not publish clarifications that are actually rewording; we publish corrections.

How the desk handles corrections received from readers

Corrections from readers are checked against the original source within five business days; if a correction is confirmed we publish it. If a correction is contested by another reader we publish both views and the original source. If a correction can’t be confirmed we publish the original claim unchanged and note the reader disagreement.

We publish a row for every correction issued against our own copy. The row contains the date, the affected page, the original claim, the corrected claim and the date we verified the correction. Two corrections have been issued since the desk launched in 2026 - one on the Ludo tournament closing time, one on the streak bonus destination. Both are listed with full source citations so a reader who arrives from search can see the desk track record in full.

How to write a useful correction letter

The most useful letters cite a specific URL, a specific claim, and a specific source. The least useful letters say 'your site is wrong' without specifying which article, which figure, or what the correct figure should be. The desk replies to every well-formed correction letter within five business days during weekday hours. Off-peak letters can take longer; we publish the response in the corrections register when we have confirmed the correction.

How to read the table

The table reads left to right. Date is when we issued the correction. Where is the page that originally carried the wrong claim. Original claim is the exact text we published that turned out to be wrong. Correction is the exact text we replaced it with. Verified on is the date we re-read the corrected page against the source and confirmed the replacement. The desk treats all five columns as required; a correction with any column missing is not a correction, it is a clarification.

What we don’t publish in the table

We don’t publish matters of opinion. We don’t publish grammar or stylistic changes. We don’t publish rewording under the cover of a correction. Every row in the table addresses a factual statement in the original article.

How the desk handles a contested correction

If we cannot confirm a correction after the five-business-day check, we publish the original claim unchanged and add a note that a reader has disagreed with the original claim. We keep the disagreement notes visible on the relevant page (alongside the claim) so a reader arriving from search can see both. This is the rare path; the desk has not had to use it in 2026.

What counts as a verification source

We accept as a verification source: a public corporate filing, the operating company own published materials, an in-app screen captured on the live build, a downloadable certificate fingerprint, an official email or letter to the desk. We do not accept as a verification source: a forwarded chat message, a social-media post, a forum reply, or any third-party article that itself does not cite a primary source.
