How the desk tracks its own spending

Open a phone note called “Zupee today”.
Top up a fixed amount per session — never re-top up mid-session.
Withdraw excess immediately after a session.
Track all wins and losses at the end of each day.
If the day’s loss exceeds the day’s win by more than the agreed cap, close the app for 24 hours.

What the desk tested

We re-test the spend cap and the time cap on every fresh test cycle. The 18+ gate is enforced at sign-in in the Zupee app and we tested it on a test account registered under a 17-year-old date-of-birth; the round was refused.

What we don’t do

We don’t recommend a paid round to a reader who has signalled a spend-cap violation. We don’t promise readers they will win. We don’t hide the helpline behind a foldable disclosure — it lives on every page that publishes a CTA.

Pick a fixed session length (we recommend 30 minutes). Pick a fixed session spend (we recommend no more than what you would spend on two coffees). Track wins and losses in a phone note. The helpline number on this note is staffed by counsellors trained in gambling-related support. The desk publishes the number every quarter, even when we have nothing to update. A reader who reaches out to the helpline is a reader the desk was glad to have written the page for. We treat responsible-play coverage as a minimum-viable editorial surface: a page that any reader can find, with a number that any reader can call, and a language that does not shame a reader for making the call.
