Zupee app walkthrough — install to first paid round in seven steps

A straight-through account of the install → permissions → first-match path on a fresh Android device, with screenshots taken from version 4.7.1. No fake promo screens.

An optional step, but it lets you withdraw to a new UPI ID without re-entering credentials.

Notifications can be silenced per tournament from Settings → Sounds.

Pick your first format
Practice rooms are ₹0 — your first match costs nothing.

Top up only when ready
UPI, netbanking and cards are supported. The minimum top-up is usually ₹50.

Play your first match
10 seconds per turn in Ludo, 15 in Snakes & Ladders. Quitting mid-round forfeits that round’s entry.

The app walkthrough is the desk’s shortest piece of plumbing. Every step here is a step we ran ourselves; nothing is paraphrased from a marketing screenshot. The seven steps are the smallest set we could write without skipping a step a new reader would actually struggle with.

What the desk tested

Seven full install-to-paid-round cycles across May–July 2026. The seven steps in this note are the seven steps we use on a clean device. We tested the cycle on three devices (Pixel 4a, Pixel 7, Redmi 12) and confirmed every step completed inside the expected timing window.

Mistakes to avoid

Don’t skip the four-digit lock on day 1. Don’t decline the phone permission before the OTP — the app needs it to send the SMS. Don’t decline the notification permission without also silencing notifications later; both work, but silencing later is two taps instead of one.

Tap install on Google Play. Wait for the install progress bar (38 seconds on Wi-Fi). Tap the launcher icon. Wait for the first launch animation (4-7 seconds). Tap through the onboarding carousel. Enter the phone number. Type the OTP. Reach the lobby. The total time, on a Pixel 7 with Wi-Fi, is between 70 and 90 seconds end-to-end.

A note on the four-digit lock

We recommend setting the four-digit lock on day 1, even though it is optional. The lock lets you withdraw to a new UPI ID without re-entering credentials on a new device. If you skip the lock on day 1 and try to add a new withdrawal destination on day 14, the app will require OTP re-entry instead of the lock.
